Plasma display apparatus and image processing method thereof

A plasma display apparatus, comprising:

• a motion detection unit detecting motion information of input image signal data;
• and
• a halftoning unit performing halftoning the image signal data by using at least one or more of a dithering method and an error diffusion method according to the motion information received from the motion detection unit,
• wherein different halftone methods are set according to gray level values of the input image signal data,
• wherein when the gray level value is a predetermined threshold value or less, the image signal data are halftoned by means of the error diffusion method,
• wherein the greater the motion degree of motion information of the image signal data becomes, the higher the predetermined threshold value becomes.
