Abstract
Mounts for securing magnetic disk drive head suspensions to actuator arms. The mounts include structures that snap onto the actuator arm to provide a secure friction fit engagement. The mounts can be efficiently removed to permit rework of the suspension and head components.
Claims21
A mount for attaching a disk drive suspension assembly to an actuator arm having first and second opposing major actuator arm surfaces, the mount comprising:
- a base region for engaging a first major actuator arm surface;
- at least two side members extending from the base region;
- spring arms extending from each of the side members over the base region, for engaging a second major actuator arm surface and providing a bias force enabling the mount to slidably accept and removably engage a distal end of the actuator arm;
- and
- at least one stop member for engaging a distal end surface of the actuator arm when the actuator arm is properly located in the mount.
