Abstract
A golf ball including a core formed from a thermoset rubber material; and an outer cover layer having a water vapor transmission rate and formed from a polymer blend including a microgel having a Tg of −25° C. to −15° C. formed from a monomer, a co-monomer, and an initiator; and a castable thermoset material; wherein the microgel is present in an amount sufficient to lower the water vapor transmission rate by 30% or more.

A golf ball comprising:
- a core comprising a thermoset rubber material;
- and
- an outer cover layer having a water vapor transmission rate and comprising a polymer blend comprising a microgel having a Tg of −25° C. to −15° C. formed from a monomer, a co-monomer, and an initiator;
- and a castable thermoset material comprising polyurea;
- wherein the microgel is present in an amount sufficient to lower the water vapor transmission rate by 30% or more.

- a core comprising a thermoset rubber material or a fully-neutralized ionomer;
- an outer cover layer having a thickness of 0.015 inches to 0.06 inches;
- and
- a thermoplastic inner cover layer disposed between the core and outer cover layer;
- wherein the outer cover layer has a thickness of 0.015 inches to 0.06 inches and comprises a polymer blend comprising a microgel having a Tg of −25° C. to −15° C. formed from a monomer, a co-monomer, and an initiator;
- and a castable thermoset polyurea;
- and wherein the microgel is present in an amount of 2.5 phr to 25 phr.

- a core comprising a center and an outer core layer;
- a castable polyurea outer cover layer having a thickness of 0.015 inches to 0.06 inches;
- and
- an inner cover layer disposed between the core and outer cover layer, the inner cover layer having a thickness of 0.015 inches to 0.06 inches;
- wherein the inner and outer cover layers comprise a polymer blend comprising a microgel having a Tg of −25° C. to −15° C. formed from a monomer, a co-monomer, and an initiator;
- the microgel being present in an amount of 2.5 phr to 25 phr.
