Abstract
A linear polymer comprising carborane, siloxane, and acetylene units, which may be cross-linked to a cured polymer and/or pyrolyzed to a ceramic.
Claims5
A siloxane-acetylene precursor comprising the formula:
- wherein m and x are independently selected integers greater than or equal to 1;
- wherein w is 1 or 2;
- wherein each R group is an independently selected organic group;
- wherein X is a halogen;
- and
- wherein (C≡C)m represents an alkynylene group when m is 1 or conjugated alkynylene groups when m is greater than 1.
