Abstract
An additive compound comprising a non-borated and/or borated reaction product, in which the reaction product is obtained by reacting a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated monovalent aliphatic acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, urea, and polyalkylenepolyamine, when employed in a lubricating oil composition is favorably employable as an automatic transmission fluid of internal combustion engines.
Claims16
An additive compound comprising the reaction product of a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated monovalent aliphatic acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, urea, and polyalkylenepolyamine, wherein said polyalkylenepolyamine contains 2 to 30 carbon atoms and 2 to 15 nitrogen atoms, wherein at least two of said nitrogen atoms are in the form of primary amines, and wherein the reaction product is non-borated, borated or a mixture thereof.
A lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of base oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of the reaction product of a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated monovalent aliphatic acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, urea, and polyalkylenepolyamine, wherein said polyalkylenepolyamine contains 2 to 30 carbon atoms and 2 to 15 nitrogen atoms, wherein at least two of said nitrogen atoms are in the form of primary amines and wherein the reaction product is non-borated, borated or a mixture thereof.
