Abstract
A method and an apparatus for pre-fastening disposable absorbent articles having a slot-and-tab fastening system during manufacturing of the pre-fastened disposable articles, such as diapers, pull-on diapers, training pants, adults incontinence pads and the like.
Claims4
A method of manufacturing comprising the steps of:
- (a) providing a disposable absorbent article with a fastening system that includes a slot member with a slot, and a tab member;
- (b) providing a manufacturing apparatus with a mechanical device, which is a slot locator;
- (c) engaging the slot member with the slot locator;
- (d) moving the slot along a predetermined path and to a target position by using the slot locator;
- and
- (e) inserting at least a portion of the tab member into the slot.
