Claims15
A stud for an article of footwear for releasably interconnecting an upper and a chassis disposable within the upper, the stud comprising:
- a rotationally asymmetric stud body configured to extend beyond a ground contacting surface of the article of footwear for penetration of ground when installed on the article of footwear;
- a separate profile element configured to extend beyond an exterior portion of the stud body for penetration of ground, the profile element releasably engageable with the stud body;
- and
- a first mounting means disposed on at least one of the stud body and the profile element, the first mounting means comprising a generally oblong recess engageable by a mating projection of a second mounting means of the chassis, to secure the stud against rotation when attached to the chassis.
A modular article of footwear, comprising:
- an upper comprising a lower side;
- a chassis releasably disposed in an interior and on the lower side of the upper and configured to extend over substantially an entire lower side of the upper;
- and
- a plurality of studs, wherein each stud is releasably attached to the chassis through an aperture formed in the lower side of the upper and wherein a first mounting means of each stud comprises an oblong recess and a second mounting means of the chassis comprises a mating projection, whereby the first mounting means engages the second mounting means to secure each stud against rotation when attached to the chassis.
