Abstract
A photographic element comprises a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a dye forming coupler and a combination of a carbonamide compound, a phenolic compound, and an electron-rich compound. Such a combination provides improved dye stability.
Claims17
A photographic element comprising a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a dye forming coupler and a combination of:
- A. a coupler solvent compound of the following Formula I:
- R1R2N—C(O)—(R)p—C(O)—NR3R4 (I)
- wherein:
- R represents a non-aromatic hydrocarbon-linking group;
- p is 0 or 1;
- R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently selected substituent groups;
- B. a phenolic antioxidant compound of Formula P:
- wherein:
- R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 are independently hydrogen or substituent groups;
- and
- C. an electron-rich aromatic compound of Formula EA:
- wherein:
- each R10 is a substituent group;
- each R11 is hydrogen or an independently selected substituent group;
- and
- n is 2 to 6 and m is 0 to 4;
- provided that the total of n+m is not larger than 6.
