Abstract
Disclosed are Bacillus thuringiensis strains comprising novel crystal proteins which exhibit insecticidal activity against lepidopteran insects. Also disclosed are novel B. thuringiensis genes and their encoded crystal proteins, as well as methods of making and using transgenic cells comprising the novel nucleic acid sequences of the invention.
Claims18
An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid sequence which hybridizes to the entire length of the complement sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 under stringent conditions comprising about 0.15 M NaCl at temperatures of about 50° C. to about 70° C. and encodes an insecticidally active Cry2 protein.
A transformed bacterial host cell comprising a nucleic acid encoding a polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:2.
An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO:2.
