Abstract
Post-processing methods for nanoparticles are disclosed. Methods for real time quality control of nanoscale powder manufacture are discussed. Uses of post-processed particles and consolidation methods are disclosed. Disclosed methods can enable commercial use of nanoscale powders in wide range of nanotechnology applications.
Claims20
A method for post-processing agglomerated nanoscale powders comprising:
- selecting agglomerated nanoscale powders;
- placing the agglomerated nanoscale powders in a fluid;
- adding a reactive media to the fluid;
- delivering stress to the agglomerated nanoscale powders in fluid to de-agglomerate the nanoscale powders, wherein the stress delivery is conducted at a temperature less than 0.5 times the melting point of agglomerated nanoscale powders;
- collecting the de-agglomerated nanoscale powders.
