Abstract
Nanostructured non-stoichiometric materials and methods of reducing manufacturing and raw material costs through the use of nanostructured materials are provided. Specifically, use of non-stoichiometric materials of oxide, nitride, carbide, chalcogenides, borides, alloys and other compositions are taught.
Claims17
A method of manufacturing a product, comprising:
- providing a metal containing substance;
- converting the metal containing substance into a non-stoichiometric non-equilibrium nanostructured crystalline material;
- forming at least one component of the product using the non-stoichiometric non-equilibrium nanostructured crystalline material, and
- sintering the at least one component to densify the at least one component.

A method of manufacturing a desired nanomaterial, comprising:
- providing a metal containing substance;
- converting the metal containing substance into a non-stoichiometric non-equilibrium nanostructured crystalline material;
- and
- reacting the non-stoichiometric non-equilibrium nanostructured crystalline material with a species to produce the desired nanomaterial.
