Abstract
A method of applying a coating to a surface of a substrate, comprising the steps of: introducing a substrate into an atmosphere which consists of at least one chemically reactive compound, water and at least one of nitrogen and argon, and thereafter using a corona discharge on the surface of the substrate to form a coating from the reactive compound having an inhibiting effect on the permeability to vapor and/or gas.

A method of applying a coating to a surface or a substrate, comprising the steps of:
- introducing a substrate into an atmosphere which consists of at least one chemically reactive compound, water and at least one of nitrogen and argon, and thereafter
- using a corona discharge on the surface of the substrate to form a coating from the reactive compound having an inhibiting effect on the permeability to vapor and/or gas.
A method for applying a coating to at least one surface of a substrate, wherein said substrate is introduced into an atmosphere which consists of at least one chemically reactive compound, water and at least one of nitrogen and argon, and wherein subsequently, using a corona discharge, on the surface of the substrate a coating is formed from said reactive compound and wherein said coating has an inhibiting effect on the permeability to vapor and/or gas.
