Abstract
A centrifuge rotor for a free jet centrifuge for cleaning lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine. The rotor has an inlet, at least one drive nozzle outlet, and a sediment deposition surface interiorly in the rotor. A bearing is provided for rotatably mounting the rotor in a surrounding housing where the bearing includes a friction bearing which simultaneously forms the rotor inlet and a roller bearing which is receivable in a bearing receptacle formed in the surrounding housing. The roller bearing is sealed off from the rotor interior.
Claims12
A centrifuge rotor for a free jet centrifuge for cleaning lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine, said rotor having an inlet, at least one drive nozzle outlet, a sediment deposition surface interiorly in said rotor, and a top cover surface;
- and bearing means for rotatably mounting said rotor in a surrounding housing, wherein said bearing means comprise a friction bearing which simultaneously forms the rotor inlet, and a roller bearing which is disposed above at least a portion of said top cover surface of the rotor and which is receivable in a bearing receptacle formed in the surrounding housing, said roller bearing sealed off from the rotor interior.
A centrifuge rotor for a free jet centrifuge for cleaning lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine, said rotor having an inlet, at least one drive nozzle outlet, and a sediment deposition surface interiorly in said rotor;
- and bearing means for rotatably mounting said rotor in a surrounding housing, wherein said bearing means comprise a friction bearing which simultaneously forms the rotor inlet, and a roller bearing which is receivable in a bearing receptacle formed in the surrounding housing and is sealed off from the rotor interior,
- wherein the rotor comprises a one-piece base of synthetic resin material, said base having a bearing support for receiving a part of said bearing means, and said base containing said at least one drive nozzle outlet, each said at least one drive nozzle outlet communicating with the rotor interior through a respective impulse channel formed in said base, said rotor further comprising a channel covering disposed over the impulse channel to separate the impulse channel from the rotor interior.
