Abstract
The present invention relates to new yellow couplers of formula (I) for colour photographic materials wherein R1 represents alkyl or hetaryl, R2 represents halogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, R3 represents alkoxycarbonyl (—COOR′), carbamoyl (—CONHR′R″), urethane (—NHCOOR′), R4 represents a substituent, R5 represents alkyl or aryl, and R6 represents hydroxy-(ethyloxy)n, where n=1 to 2 and to a colour photographic material containing said couplers of formula (I).

A yellow coupler of formula (I)
- wherein
- R1 represents alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms,
- R2 represents halogen, alkoxy having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms or aryloxy of the formula OR′″ in which R′″ is a phenyl or naphthyl group,
- R3 represents alkoxycarbonyl (—COOR), carbamoyl (—CONHRR′) or urethane (—NHCOOR), wherein R and R′ are identical or different and are an alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms,
- R4 represents hydrogen, halogen, alkoxy having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms, CF3, CN, phenyl, naphthyl or an alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms,
- R5 represents alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms phenyl or naphthyl and
- R6 represents hydroxy-(ethyloxy)n, where n=1 to 2.
