Abstract
A compatibilized blend of general purpose rubbers (GPR) and polymers containing benzylic halide groups are produced through solventless reactions utilizing a multifunctional agent containing a diene reactive group and a benzylic halo reactive group.
Claims6
A compatibilized blend comprising a brominated poly(isobutylene-co-4-methylstyrene);
- a general purpose rubber selected from the group consisting of natural rubber, polyisoprene, polybutadiene, nitrile rubber, poly(styrene-co-butadiene), and poly(acrylonitrile-co-butadiene);
- and an agent selected from the group consisting of tetrabutylammonium 6,8-dithiooctanoate, tetrabutylammonium dithiopropionate, and tetrabutylammonium mercaptoacetate.
