Abstract
The production of IgA is selectively inhibited by orally administering 15-deoxyspergualin or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, thus preventing and treating IgA-associated immunological diseases such as IgA nephropathy.

A method for selectively suppressing IgA production in a human or an animal, characterized in that the method comprises orally administering 15-deoxyspergualin or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof to a human or an animal in need of selective suppression of IgA production.
