Abstract
The invention concerns the use of compounds of formula (I) in which R represents a linear or branched, substituted or not substituted, saturated or unsaturated C1-C12 hydrocarbon chain, for stimulating the proliferation of epidermic cells and fibroblasts.

A method of stimulating the proliferation of epidermal cells and fibroblasts, comprising applying to human skin an effective amount of a compound of the formula
- in which R represents a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted, saturated or unsaturated C1-C12 hydrocarbon-based chain, said amount being effective to combat aging of the skin or to improve the structural quality of the skin.
