Golf car having disk brakes and single point latching brake

A brake system for a golf car comprising:

• an integrated brake pedal and accelerator pedal assembly;
• and
• a hydraulic brake actuation system, the brake actuation system receiving input from the brake pedal and generating an output to control a hydraulically operated braking device;
• and
• an accumulator for storing braking energy when in a parking mode, the accumulator maintaining a predetermined minimum hydraulic pressure throughout the brake system,
• wherein the brake system operates in a normal mode by partially depressing the brake pedal and wherein the brake system operates in a parking mode by depressing the brake pedal further, and wherein when the brake system is in the parking mode, the brake system may be released by depressing one of the brake pedal or accelerator pedals.

A golf car comprising:

• a frame supported on a plurality of wheels;
• a prime mover, the prime mover providing driving force to selected ones of the plurality of wheels to displace the golf car;
• an integrated brake pedal and accelerator pedal assembly, the brake pedal having a range of travel, a first portion of the range of travel defining a service mode of operation and a second portion of the range of travel defining a parking mode of operation, the integrated brake pedal and accelerator pedal assembly including a lock position for the parking mode of operation and generating a single audible sound when depressed to the lock position;
• and
• a hydraulically operated brake system, the brake system receiving input from the brake pedal and generating an output to control a hydraulically operated braking device,
• wherein when the brake system is in the parking mode, the brake system may be released by depressing one of the brake pedal or accelerator pedals.

A golf car comprising:

• a frame supported on a plurality of wheels;
• a prime mover, the prime mover providing driving force to selected ones of the plurality of wheels to displace the golf car;
• an integrated brake pedal and accelerator pedal assembly;
• a hydraulically operated brake system, the brake system receiving input from the brake pedal and generating a hydraulic output signal;
• a brake rotor attached to at least one of the wheels of the golf car;
• and
• a first caliper assembly having brake pads displaceable in accordance with the hydraulic output signal, the brake pads contacting the brake rotor to cause friction, the friction retarding movement of the brake rotor and associated wheel,
• wherein the brake system operates in a normal mode by partially depressing the brake pedal and wherein the brake system operates in a parking mode by depressing the brake pedal further, and wherein when the brake system is in the parking mode, the brake system may be released by depressing one of the brake pedal or accelerator pedals.
