Abstract
The invention provides a coating composition comprising (A) a vinyl resin having a structure of 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole in the resin skeleton and (B) a crosslinking agent, and a coating method using the coating composition. The coating composition of the invention is capable of forming coating films which are improved in acid resistance, weatherability and other properties without impairment of finished appearance and processability.
Claims9
A coating composition comprising:
- (A) a vinyl resin having a structure of 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole in the resin skeleton,
- (E) a hydroxyl-containing polyester resin having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000, a hydroxyl value of 10 to 200 mg KOH/g, and a glass transition temperature of not higher than 10.degree. C., and
- (B) a crosslinking agent.
A coating composition comprising:
- (C) a vinyl resin having a structure of 2-(2'-hydroxphenyl)-benzotriazole and a hydrocarbon ring in the resin skeleton,
- (E) a hydroxyl-containing polyester resin having a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000, a hydroxyl value of 10 to 200 mg KOH/g, and a glass transition temperature of not higher than 10.degree. C., and
- (B) a crosslinking agent.
A coating composition comprising:
- (D) a vinyl resin having a structure of 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazole, a hydrocarbon ring and a structure of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine in the resin skeleton, and
- (B) a crosslinking agent.
