Abstract
The present invention relates to a topical formulation of gel-like consistency, but nebulizable by a mechanical pump, containing colloidal silices as gelifying agent.

A pharmaceutical thixotropic gel composition comprising an active ingredient, from 2 to 15% of a colloidal silica having a surface area ranging from 130 to 300 m.sup.2 /g, water in an amount of from 60 to 97% by weight and, optionally, one or more excipients.
