Abstract
The lubricity of low sulphur fuels is enhanced by incorporation of a lubricity enhancing additive in combination with a nitrogen compound.
Claims25
A composition comprising a major proportion of a fuel oil and minor proportions of a lubricity enhancer and at least one nitrogen compound carrying one or more substituents of the formula>NR.sup.13, wherein R.sup.13 represents a hydrocarbyl group containing 8 to 40 carbon atoms, the sulphur content of the composition being at most 0.2% by weight.
The method of improving the lubricity of a fuel oil composition having a sulfur content of at most 0.2% by weight and also comprising a lubricity enhancer which comprises adding to said composition at least one nitrogen compound carrying one or more substituents of the formula>NR.sup.13 wherein R.sup.13 represents a hydrocarbyl group containing 8 to 40 carbon atoms whereby the lubricity of the fuel oil composition is improved.
