Abstract
Oil emulsions are broken in a particularly advantageous manner by adding to them a breaker which comprises poly-DADMAC and polyalkylenepolyamines.
Claims6
A process for breaking oil emulsions, wherein mixtures which comprise poly-diallyldimethylammonium chloride and polyalkylenepolymaine are employed as breakers, wherein the relative amounts of poly-diallyldimethylammonium chloride to polyalkylenepolyamine are 25 to 75:75 to 25% by weight, said poly-diallyldimethylammonium chloride, as a 35% strength by weight solution in water, having a viscosity of 2,000 to 20,000 mPa.s at 25.degree. C., and said polyalkylenepolyamine, as a 25% strength by weight solution in water, having a viscosity of 200 to 800 mPa.s at 25.degree. C.
