Abstract
Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 represent H or methyl and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 represent H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.2-4 alkenyl; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together can also be butylidene are interesting camphor derivatives. They exhibit valuable odor characteristics.
Claims25
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR8## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 represent H or methyl and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 represent H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.2-4 alkenyl and wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together can also be butylidene.
A process for the manufacture of the compounds of formula ##STR9## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 represent H or methyl and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 represent H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.2-4 alkenyl and
- wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together can also be butylidene, comprising reacting a compound of the formula ##STR10## a) with a carbonyl compound of the formula ##STR11## b) its acetal or ketal of the formula ##STR12## wherein R is preferably C.sub.1-4 alkyl, under the conditions of acetalisation or ketalisation.
