Abstract
Methods of prevention and treatment of infections and infestations in an animal by administering to the animal an effective amount of an acetylated mannan derivative.
Claims6
A method for preventing an animal from being infected by an infectious organism, comprising:
- administering to said animal an amount of acetylated mannan derivative sufficient to prevent infection by said infectious organism.
A method for treating fungal infestations in an animal comprising:
- administering to said animal an amount of acetylated mannan derivative sufficient to provide antifungal activity.
A method for treating infections in an animal resistant to an anti-infectious drug, comprising:
- administering to said animal an amount of the anti-infectious drug and an amount of acetylated mannan derivative to provide anti-infectious activity.
