Abstract
Photoimageable compositions, photoimageable resist compositions, and photoimageable resist elements that afford enhanced, storage stable printout images are disclosed which include a substituted 1,2-dibromoethane and a leuco dye.
Claims10
A photoimageable composition which comprises:
- (a) a substituted 1,2-dihalogenated ethane having the structure:
- ##STR5## wherein;
- X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are independently either bromine or chlorine;
- R.sub.1 is C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, or aroyl, and;
- R.sub.2 is C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, aroyl, acyl, or an electron withdrawing group other than halogen;
- and
- R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently C.sub.6 -C.sub.10
- aryl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl, H, or an electron withdrawing group other than halogen, with the proviso that any two of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 groups can form a 5- to 8-membered ring structure;
- with the proviso that when R.sub.1 or R.sub.3 is C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 are not aryl;
- (b) a leuco dye;
- and
- (c) a photoinitiator or photoinitiator system.
