Abstract
Cinnamamide derivatives and the salts thereof are provided. An antihyperlipidemic composition is also provided. The composition comprises an active ingredient which is at least one selected from the group consisting of the above-mentioned cinnamamide derivative and the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
Claims2
A cinnmamide derivative of formula I or a salt thereof:
- ##STR113## wherein R.sup.l is selected from the group consisting of
- --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 1COR.sup.3,
- Wherein R.sup.3 is ##STR114## (R.sup.6 is pyridyl or phenyl, and n.sup.3 is an integer of 0 to 3), or ##STR115## (R.sup.7 is alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms) and n.sup.1 is an integer of 1 to 3;
- ##STR116## Wherein R.sup.8 is ##STR117## (n.sup.6 is an integer of 1 to 3), and R.sup.9 is --OH, --OR.sup.11 (R.sup.11 is alkyl with 1 to 3 carbon atoms);
- ##STR118## wherein R.sup.25 is ##STR119## (R.sup.26 is phenyl or pyridyl, n.sup.16 is an integer of 1 to 3), and n.sup.15 is an integer of 0 to 3;
- and
- --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 18R.sup.28,
- Wherein R.sup.28 is ##STR120## (R.sup.38 is pyridyl), and n.sup.18 is an integer of 0 to 3;
- R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms , and --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 19--C.sub.6 H.sub.5 (n.sup.19 is an integer of 1 to 3);
- or
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be linked together with the amide nitrogen to form a ring of ##STR121## which is selected from the group consisting of ##STR122## (R.sup.44 is phenyl or pyridyl, and n.sup.20 is an integer of 0 to 2), ##STR123## R.sup.45 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R.sup.46 is phenyl or pyridyl, and n.sup.21 is an integer of 0 to 2), and ##STR124## (R.sup.47 is alkyl having 1 to 5carbon atoms).
An antihyperlipidemic composition comprising an active ingredient of a cinnamamide derivative and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein said active ingredient is selected from the group consisting of a cinnamamide derivative of claim 3 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
