Herbicidal 1-(3-halo-4-trifluoromethylphenyl) tetrazolinones of the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents halogen, R.sup.1 represents C.sub.1-3 alkyl, and R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1-3 alkyl.

A 1- ( 3 -halo-4-trifluoromethylphenyl) tetrazolinone of the formula ##STR9## wherein X represents halogen,
- R.sup.l represents C.sub.1-3 alkyl, and
- R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1-3 alkyl.
