Abstract
The present invention relates to a low sulfur diesel fuel which contains a dialkyl and a trialkyl derivative of glycerol in amount sufficient to reduce particulate matter emissions.
Claims9
A fuel composition comprised of hydrocarbons boiling in the diesel fuel range at about 160.degree. C. to about 370.degree. C. and containing up to 500 ppm sulfur, and a particulate emission reducing amount of a glycerol ether additive having the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sub.1, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl group with the proviso that at least two of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 are C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl group.
