Abstract
A silver halide photosensitive material comprising a support having thereon a layer containing (a) an organic compound which releases a free radical on contact with light rays and (b) a compound which undergoes a change in the absorption spectrum due to the action of the released free radical.
Claims6
A silver halide photosensitive material comprising a support having thereon a layer containing (a) an organic compound which releases a free radical on contact with light rays and (b) a compound which undergoes a change in the absorption spectrum by changing from a colored state to a colorless state due to the action of the released free radical,
- wherein the organic compound which releases a free radical on contact with light is a compound shown by the general formula (I):
- ##STR14## wherein Y represent Cl or Br, n is an integer from 1 to 3, and R represents an aromatic group which may or may not be substituted, and
- wherein the compound which changes from a colored state to a colorless state is an oxonol dye or a benzylidene dye.
