Abstract
A natural wax-containing ink jet ink for use in an ink jet apparatus which features good print quality. The ink jet ink is discharged from the ink jet ink apparatus at elevated temperatures above ambient.
Claims10
A hot melt ink jet ink composition for use in an impulse ink jet apparatus comprising at least one natural wax selected from the group of waxes consisting of Japan wax, candelilla wax, carnauba wax and mixtures thereof, said wax-containing composition having a maximum viscosity of about 35 centipoise when discharged from said impulse ink jet apparatus at elevated temperatures of between about 51.degree. and 82.degree. C.
A hot melt impulse ink jet printing method comprising the steps of:
- providing a hot melt impulse ink jet ink comprising at least one natural wax selected from the group consisting of Japan wax, candelillia wax and carnauba wax, said ink jet ink composition having a maximum viscosity of 35 centipoise at a temperature within the range of between about 51.degree. and 82.degree. C.;
- and
- jetting said ink jet ink composition at a temperature within said range of temperatures against a substrate whereby said composition solidifies to form hot melt print.
