In a process to convert alkyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbons by contact of an alkyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon feed with an AMS-1B crystalline borosilicate-based catalyst incorporated within a matrix material and on which is impregnated a molybdenum compound, the improvement comprising incorporating above about 50 ppm alcohol or ether into the alkyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon feed.
