Abstract
Plasticizers are prepared from a monomer mixture consisting essentially of (A) one or more olefins having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and (B) one or more C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 esters or diesters of monoethylenically unsaturated mono- or di-carboxylic acids. Blends of the plasticizers with different polymers, for example polyvinyl chloride, are also prepared.
Claims11
A blend of about 1 to 600 parts by weight of a plasticizer which is the free radical polymerization product of (A) one or more monoethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbons having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and (B) one or more C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 esters of monoethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acids, or diesters of monoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, the number average molecular weight being about 500 to 6000, the number ratio of (A) to (B) being about 0.1/1 to 1.5/1, with about 100 parts of different polymer.
