Abstract
A system and method for selectively removing a recording means from a strip chart scale to avoid marking undesired data thereon.
Claims13
A system for selectively removing a recording means from a strip chart scale to avoid marking undesired data thereon, the rate of change in the position of the recording means with respect to the strip chart scale during the provision of data to be recorded being limited to a maximum value ensuring a continuous trend record, comprising:
- means for rapidly moving the recording means off the scale in response to an undesired data signal at a speed greater than said maximum value;
- and
- means for separating the recording means from the strip chart in response to the motion of the recording means off the scale.
A method for reducing the recording of undesired data on a strip chart scale on which data is marked by a recording means operative to move over the scale in response to a data signal, the rate of change in the position of the recording means with respect to the strip chart scale during the provision of data to be recorded being limited to a maximum value ensuring a continuous trend record, comprising the steps of:
- rapidly moving the recording means off the scale in response to an undesired data signal at a speed greater than said maximum value;
- and
- separating the recording means from the strip chart in response to the motion of the recording means off the scale.
A system for selectively removing a recording means from a strip chart scale to avoid marking undesired data thereon, the rate of change in the position of the recording means with respect to the strip chart scale during the provision of data to be recorded being limited to a maximum value ensuring a continuous trend record, comprising:
- means for moving the recording means off the scale in response to an undesired data signal and at a speed sufficiently greater than the maximum value to reduce marking of the strip chart scale during the motion off the scale.
