Abstract
Described is the novel compound genus defined according to the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl useful in augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of consumable materials including perfumes, colognes, perfumed articles (including a solid or liquid anionic, cationic, nonionic or zwitterionic detergents) smoking tobacco and smoking tobacco articles.
Claims6
At least one compound defined according to the structure:
- ##STR54## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl.
A composition of matter including a major proportion of a compound having the structure:
- ##STR55## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl produced according to the process consisting essentially of the step of treating with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of Raney nickel and Rhodium at least one compound defined according to the structure:
- ##STR56## wherein in the compound having the structure:
- ##STR57## one of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and each of the other of the dashed lines are carbon-carbon single bonds and the temperature in the range of from 100.degree. C. up to 200.degree. C. and at a pressure in the range of from 400 psig up to 1400 psig.
The product consisting essentially of a compound having the structure:
- ##STR58## produced according to the process consisting essentially of the step of reacting with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of Raney nickel and Rhodium at least one compound defined according to the structure:
- ##STR59## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl and in the structure:
- ##STR60## one of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and each of the other of the dashed lines are carbon-carbon single bonds.
