Abstract
Novel dibutylorthobenzylmethoxybenzenes having the structure ##STR1## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy and novel dibutylorthocinnamylmethoxybenzenes are disclosed as growth inhibitors for mosquito larvae.

A compound of the structure ##STR26## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or lower alkoxy containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
A compound of the structure ##STR27##
A method of inhibiting growth of mosquito larvae, which comprises:
- administering to the larvae an effective growth inhibiting amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of
- (a) compounds of the structure ##STR28## wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or lower alkoxy containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and
- (b) compounds of the structure ##STR29##
