Abstract
Peptides are disclosed which have biological activity of the same type as known calcitonins and which have a shorter amino acid chain than natural calcitonins. Also resin peptides are disclosed which may be converted to peptides having such biological activity; and processes for producing said resin peptides and said calcitonin peptides.
Claims5
Des-X.sup.3 -calcitonin, where X is asparagine wherein the calcitonin is salmon, havine, porcine, ovine or eel.
A peptide having the structure:
- ##STR27##
A peptide having the structure:
- ##STR28##
A peptide of the structure:
- ##STR29## where R.sub.1 is S-n-alkyl, Cys or H and R.sub.2 is S-n-alkyl or H, R.sub.1 being S-n-alkyl, Cys or H when R.sub.2 is H and R.sub.2 being S-n-alkyl or H when R.sub.1 is H and H when R.sub.1 is S-n-alkyl or Cys, wherein the S-n-alkyl groups are selected from the group consisting of methylthio, ethylthio, n-propylthio, n-butylthio, and equivalents thereof.
A peptide of the structure:
- ##STR30## where R.sub.1 is S-n-alkyl, Cys or H and R.sub.2 is S-n-alkyl or H, R.sub.1 being S-n-alkyl, Cys or H when R.sub.2 is H and R.sub.2 being S-n-alkyl or H when R.sub.1 is H and H when R.sub.1 is S-n-alkyl or Cys, wherein the S-n-alkyl groups are selected from the group consisting of methylthio, ethylthio, n-propylthio, n-butylthio, and equivalents thereof.
