Abstract
A method for forming a cyan dye image by development of an exposed silver halide photographic material with a developer containing a cyan coupler of the following formula: ##STR1## in which R represents hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of one to twenty; R.sub.1 represents an alkylsulfonamide or alkylsulfamoyl group; R.sub.2 represents an alkyl, aryl group or a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic group containing a nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur atom; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; X represents an alkylene, metaphenylene or orthophenylene group; Z represents a hydrogen atom or a split-off radical; and n has an integral value of one or two.
Claims26
A method for forming a cyan dye image by developing an imagewisely exposed silver halide photographic material with a developer containing a color developing agent in the presence of a cyan coupler of the following formula:
- ##STR44## in which R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of one to twenty;
- R.sub.1 represents an alkylsulfonamide or alkylsulfamoyl group;
- R.sub.2 represents an alkyl, aryl group or a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic group containing a nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur atom;
- R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom;
- X represents an alkylene, metaphenylene or orthophenylene group;
- Z represents a hydrogen atom or a split-off radical;
- and n has an integral value of one or two.
A photographic material having a silver halide emulsion layer coated on a support which layer contains a cyan coupler of the following formula:
- ##STR45## in which R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having a carbon number of one to twenty;
- R.sub.1 represetns an alkylsulfonamide or alkylsulfamoyl group;
- R.sub.2 represents an alkyl, aryl group or a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic group containing a nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur atom;
- R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom;
- X represents an alkylene, metaphenylene or orthophenylene group;
- Z represents a hydrogen atom or a split-off radical;
- and n has an integral value of one or two.
