Abstract
Raw food materials, having a 10-65% water content, are ground between two opposing disc grinding members. The opposing discs are concave to form a central hollow portion therebetween having a nearly trapezoidal cross section.
Claims2
A process for producing fibrous or granular foods and feeds from cereal, vegetable, animal and fish materials comprising adjusting the water content of the materials to between 10-65% by weight and grinding the raw food materials between two opposing disc grinding members separated by a gap not larger than 1 mm, wherein one of the grinding members rotates at a peripheral speed from 8 to 8000 m/min, and wherein the opposing discs are concave to form a central hollow portion therebetween having an approximately trapezoidal cross section.
