Abstract
A process for the production of .alpha.-galactosidase by culturing the mold Penicillium duponti in an aqueous medium containing at least one sugar with at least one .alpha.D-galactopyranosyl bond and collecting the mycelium thus obtained.

A process for the production of .alpha.-galactosidase by culturing the mold Penicillium duponti in an aqueous medium containing at least one sugar with at least one .alpha. D-galactopyranosyl bond, collecting the mycelium thus obtained and subjecting said collected mycelium to a step selected from the group consisting of lyophilization and treatment to liberate its intracellular content of .alpha.-galactosidase.
