Abstract
Chromophore-substituted vinyl-halomethyl-s-triazine compounds are provided capable of free-radical generation upon excitation with radiation having a wavelength of from about 330 to about 700 millimicrons.
Claims7
A composition comprising:
- 1. an ethylenically unsaturated, freeradical initiated, chain propagating addition polymerizable compound and
- 2. a compound having the formula:
- ##SPC6##
- wherein Q is bromine or chlorine, P is --CQ.sub.3, --NH.sub.2, --NHR, --NR.sub.2 or --OR where R is phenyl or lower alkyl, n is an integer from 1 to 3 and W is an optionally substituted phenyl, pyrryl, benzopyrryl, oxazoyl, benzoxazoyl, benzthiazoyl or ##SPC7##
- where Z is oxygen or sulfur and R.sub.1 is hydrogen, a lower alkyl or a phenyl group, said compound being capable of generating free radicals on stimulation by actinic radiation at a wavelength of about 330 to about 700 millimicrons.

A photosensitive sheet construction comprising a substrate having a light-sensitive coating thereon, said coating comprising a compound having the formula:

- wherein Q is bromine or chlorine, P is --CQ.sub.3, --NH.sub.2, --NHR, --NR.sub.2 or --OR where R is phenyl or lower alkyl, n is an integer from 1 to 3 and W is an optionally substituted phenyl, pyrryl, benzopyrryl, oxazoyl, benzoxazoyl, benzthiazoyl, or ##SPC9##

- wherein Q is bromine or chlorine, P is --CQ.sub.3, --NH.sub.2, --NHR, --NR.sub.2 or --OR where R is phenyl or lower alkyl, n is an integer from 1 to 3, and W is an optionally substituted aromatic or heterocyclic nucleus or ##SPC11##
- where Z is oxygen or sulfur and R.sub.1 is hydrogen, a lower alkyl or a phenyl group, said compound being capable of generating free radicals on stimulation by actinic radiation at a wavelength of about 330 to about 700 millimicrons.
