Solid-state lighting devices and more particularly filter structures for reducing full width half maximum (FWHM) values of spectral outputs in light-emitting diode (LED) devices are disclosed. Filter structures are configured to receive light from an LED chip having a first FWHM value and provide light that exits the LED chip with a second FWHM value that is less than the first FWHM value. Filter structures embody band-pass filters with midpoints of passbands configured to be the same or similar to peak wavelengths generated by corresponding LED chips. Exemplary LED devices include LED chips, LED packages, and LED displays that incorporate filter structures for reducing FWHM values of targeted emission spectrums.
