Abstract
Devices, systems, and methods for providing thermal management of data processing systems that provide computer implemented services are disclosed. To provide such services, a data processing system may include a first temperature sensitive component, a second temperature sensitive component, a chassis, and a cold plate. The cold plate may include a first region for cooling the first temperature sensitive component. The cold plate may also include a second region for cooling the second temperature sensitive component. The second region may be adapted to generate a mixed flow proximate to the second temperature component.
Claims20
A data processing system, comprising:
- a first temperature sensitive component having a first thermal dissipation requirement;
- a second temperature sensitive component having a second thermal dissipation requirement;
- a chassis for housing the first temperature sensitive component and the second temperature sensitive component;
- and
- a cold plate, comprising:
- a first region for cooling the first temperature sensitive component;
- and
- a second region for cooling the second temperature sensitive component, the second region being adapted to generate a mixed flow proximate to the second temperature sensitive component to meet the second thermal dissipation requirement.
A chassis for a data processing system, the chassis comprising:
- an enclosure for housing:
- a first temperature sensitive component having a first thermal dissipation requirement, and
- a second temperature sensitive component having a second thermal dissipation requirement;
- and
- a cold plate, comprising:
- a first region for cooling the first temperature sensitive component;
- and
- a second region for cooling the second temperature sensitive component, the second region being adapted to generate a mixed flow proximate to the second temperature sensitive component to meet the second thermal dissipation requirement.
A cold plate for a chassis of a data processing system, the cold plate comprising:
- a first region adapted to cool a first temperature sensitive component, the first temperature sensitive component having a first thermal dissipation requirement;
- and
- a second region adapted to cool a second temperature sensitive component, the second temperature sensitive component having a second thermal dissipation requirement, and the second region being adapted to generate a mixed flow proximate to the second temperature sensitive component to meet the second thermal dissipation requirement.
