Custom data resource generation for provisioning desired computer implemented services

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations for providing desired computer implemented services using data stored in data sources of a distributed system, the operations comprising:

• obtaining a query that implicates a custom data resource of data resources, the custom data resource being based only on local portions of the data of the data resources;
• obtaining an update process for the custom data resource;
• performing the update process to update at least one value of the custom data resource to generate an updated value of the custom data resource, the update process defining an ordering for updating of the local portions of the data and remote portions of the data of the data resources upon which the local portions of the data are based, the ordering being based on dependencies between the custom data resource, the local portions of the data, and the remote portions of the data;
• using the updated value to generate a response to the query;
• and
• servicing the query using the response to facilitate provisioning of the desired computer implemented services.

A data processing system, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor to store instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations providing desired computer implemented services using data stored in data sources of a distributed system, the operations comprising:
• obtaining a query that implicates a custom data resource of data resources, the custom data resource being based only on local portions of the data of the data resources;
• obtaining an update process for the custom data resource;
• performing the update process to update at least one value of the custom data resource to generate an updated value of the custom data resource, the update process defining an ordering for updating of the local portions of the data and remote portions of the data of the data resources upon which the local portions of the data are based, the ordering being based on dependencies between the custom data resource, the local portions of the data, and the remote portions of the data;
• using the updated value to generate a response to the query;
• and
• servicing the query using the response to facilitate provisioning of the desired computer implemented services.
