Embodiments of present disclosure provide a method for video frame prediction. The method includes receiving a plurality of video frames representing an initial portion of a scene. A foundation model is used for generating a perception program to extract symbolic, human-interpretable, physics-grounded attributes from each of the received video frames. Further, the foundation model is used for generating a dynamics program that models the temporal evolution of the extracted attributes based on physical principles. The foundation model also generates a rendering program that maps future attribute states to predicted video frames. The perception program is then executed to extract latent state representations from the initial video frames. The dynamics program is applied to the extracted latent state representations to generate predicted latent states corresponding to future time steps. The rendering program is also executed to convert the predicted latent states into future video frames.
