Abstract
Systems, apparatuses, and methods for rendering textures by prefetching texture data are disclosed. Source texture data is identified based at least in part on one or more programmable instructions. A prefetch of the source texture data is caused based on level of details associated with the source texture data. Further, a list data blocks of the source texture data and a mapping between each data block and corresponding allocated memory address space allocated to each data block on the memory device is maintained. Responsive to a request to load a given data block, the given data block from the memory device is loaded using the list.

A processor comprising:
- processing circuitry configured to:
- transmit a memory request for texture data to a memory device, wherein the memory device stores the memory request in a command queue of the memory device;
- receive the texture data responsive to execution of the memory request by the memory device;
- and
- render a texture using the texture data.
A method comprising:
- transmitting, by circuitry of a processor, a memory request for texture data to a memory device, wherein the memory device stores the memory request in a command queue of the memory device;
- receiving, by the processor, the texture data responsive to execution of the memory request by the memory device;
- and
- rendering, by the processor, a texture using the texture data.
A system comprising:
- a memory device comprising a command queue;
- and
- a graphics processing unit comprising circuitry configured to:
- transmit a memory request for texture data to the memory device, wherein the memory device stores the memory request in the command queue;
- receive the texture data responsive to execution of the memory request by the memory device;
- and
- render a texture using the texture data.
