Modular smart pickup system with integrated sensors

A method of verifying order accuracy in a smart pickup system comprising a plurality of smart pickup units, each smart pickup unit configured to independently support an order and verify accuracy of the order, the method comprising:

• a) receiving order information associated with a customer order from one or more external systems, wherein the order information includes one or more predetermined parameters associated with the customer order;
• b) coordinating, by smart pickup management software in communication with the plurality of smart pickup units, operation of the plurality of smart pickup units;
• c) analyzing, by the smart pickup management software, one or more designation factors to designate a specific smart pickup unit of the plurality of smart pickup units for the order;
• d) detecting placement of the customer order on the designated smart pickup unit;
• e) collecting, by a plurality of sensors integrated with the designated smart pickup unit, sensor data about the customer order;
• f) comparing the sensor data against the one or more predetermined parameters;
• and
• g) providing, by a user interface operatively connected to the designated smart pickup unit, visual feedback indicating an order accuracy determination based on the comparison of the sensor data against the one or more predetermined parameters.

A method of continuously monitoring order parameters in a smart pickup system comprising a smart pickup unit configured to independently support an order and verify accuracy of the order, the smart pickup unit comprising a pad and a base platform, wherein the base platform comprises one or more base coupling connectors configured to mechanically and electrically couple with one or more adjacent base platforms of respective additional smart pickup units to form a customizable modular array of smart pickup units, the method comprising:

• a) detecting placement of an order on the pad of the smart pickup unit via weight sensors integrated with the smart pickup unit;
• b) initializing, by a microcontroller of the smart pickup unit, a plurality of parameter monitoring sensors integrated with the smart pickup unit by performing calibration and self-diagnostic procedures;
• c) establishing baseline parameter values for the order based on historical data stored in the smart pickup system for similar order types;
• d) continuously monitoring, by the plurality of parameter monitoring sensors, parameters of the order against acceptable parameter ranges, wherein the parameters comprise at least one of weight, temperature, or humidity via weight sensors positioned at strategic locations around a perimeter of the base platform;
• e) actively adjusting the acceptable parameter ranges based on ambient environmental conditions and order type;
• and
• f) generating, by the microcontroller, a parameter-specific alert when a monitored parameter exceeds a corresponding acceptable parameter range.
