A system for evaluating fatigue for a component design may be collectively operable to execute an evaluation environment, which may be operable to access a baseline component design associated with a baseline component. A baseline set of finite elements may be associated with a volume of the baseline component design. The evaluation environment may be operable to access a second component design associated with a second component. A second set of finite elements may be associated with a volume of the second component design. The evaluation environment may be operable to calculate at least one stress-based MAC value for the second component design based a comparison between nodal stresses associated with respective corner nodes of the baseline set of finite elements and nodal stresses associated with respective corner nodes of the second set of finite elements. A method for evaluating fatigue for a component design is also disclosed.
