Abstract
A method for synthetic data generation, the method comprising: accepting input of a target geographic region; acquiring aggregated demographic data for the target geographic region; generating a synthetic population based on the aggregated demographic data using iterative proportional fitting; acquiring infrastructure information for the target geographic region; assigning the synthetic population to a plurality of households using the infrastructure information, thereby forming synthetic population data; outputting the synthetic population data for further use.

A computer-implemented method for synthetic data generation, the method comprising:
- accepting input of a target geographic region;
- acquiring aggregated demographic data for the target geographic region;
- generating a synthetic population based on the aggregated demographic data using iterative proportional fitting, IPF;
- acquiring infrastructure information for the target geographic region;
- assigning the synthetic population to a plurality of households using the infrastructure information, thereby forming synthetic population data;
- and
- outputting the synthetic population data.
A data processing apparatus comprising:
- means for accepting input of a target geographic region;
- a processing unit configured to execute a method for synthetic data generation, the method comprising:
- accepting input of a target geographic region;
- acquiring aggregated demographic data for the target geographic region;
- generating a synthetic population based on the aggregated demographic data using iterative proportional fitting, IPF;
- acquiring infrastructure information for the target geographic region;
- assigning the synthetic population to a plurality of households using the infrastructure information, thereby forming synthetic population data;
- and
- outputting the synthetic population data.
A computer program comprising instructions that, when the program is executed by a data processing apparatus, cause the data processing apparatus to carry out a method for synthetic data generation, the method comprising:
- accepting input of a target geographic region;
- acquiring aggregated demographic data for the target geographic region;
- generating a synthetic population based on the aggregated demographic data using iterative proportional fitting, IPF;
- acquiring infrastructure information for the target geographic region;
- assigning the synthetic population to a plurality of households using the infrastructure information, thereby forming synthetic population data;
- and
- outputting the synthetic population data.
A computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a data processing apparatus, cause the data processing apparatus to carry out a method for synthetic data generation, the method comprising:
- accepting input of a target geographic region;
- acquiring aggregated demographic data for the target geographic region;
- generating a synthetic population based on the aggregated demographic data using iterative proportional fitting, IPF;
- acquiring infrastructure information for the target geographic region;
- assigning the synthetic population to a plurality of households using the infrastructure information, thereby forming synthetic population data;
- and
- outputting the synthetic population data.
