Abstract
A storage system receives an initiator identifier associated with an initiator. A processing device determines a target identifier based on the initiator identifier and provides the target identifier for use by the initiator in connecting to multiple storage systems. One or more namespaces are exposed under the target identifier and presented to the host as part of a single logical subsystem across the multiple storage systems.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device, an initiator identifier associated with an initiator;
- determining a target identifier based on the initiator identifier;
- providing the target identifier for use by the initiator in connecting to a plurality of storage systems;
- and
- exposing one or more namespaces under the target identifier to present the one or more namespaces as a single logical subsystem across the plurality of storage systems.
An apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, configured to:
- receive an initiator identifier associated with an initiator;
- determine a target identifier based on the initiator identifier;
- provide the target identifier during a discovery process for use by the initiator in connecting to a plurality of storage systems;
- and
- expose one or more namespaces under the target identifier to present the one or more namespaces as a single logical subsystem across the plurality of storage systems.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
- receive an initiator identifier associated with an initiator;
- determine a target identifier based on the initiator identifier;
- provide the target identifier for use by the initiator in connecting to a plurality of storage systems;
- and
- expose one or more namespaces under the target identifier to present the one or more namespaces as a single logical subsystem across the plurality of storage systems.
