Abstract
A patterned surface for cell culture is provided. The patterned surface includes a substrate and a photoresist layer disposed over the substrate. The photoresist layer is topographically structured with a plurality of heterogeneous topographical patterns. At least two of the plurality of heterogeneous topographical patterns include topographical features that differ in at least one of shape, size, height, pitch, orientation, type, periodicity, spacing, composition, elasticity, or stiffness.

A patterned surface for cell culture comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- a photoresist layer over the substrate, the photoresist layer topographically structured with a plurality of heterogeneous topographical patterns.
